About Humming Catfish
“Hey ya’ll, welcome to Humming Catfish.”

I’m Sarah, and this is my little slice of backwoods Alabama where I share the simple, seasonal, and sometimes muddy ways I live close to the land. From canning and cooking Southern favorites to making salves, teas, and tinctures from foraged finds.

Why I Started Humming Catfish
Growing up in the rural South, I learned that the land gives us everything we need: food, medicine, and a deeper sense of home. I started this channel and website to document what I do, keep traditions alive, and hopefully inspire others to learn a little hillbilly know-how along the way.
🤠 Meet Sean

My husband Sean is my biggest fan and true Southern gentleman. Born and bred in Texas, he’s the steady voice cheering me on in every project — whether I’m canning venison, digging up clay, or frying something wild.
He may not always be in front of the camera, but he’s always part of Humming Catfish: encouraging me, reminding me to keep going, and celebrating every step of this journey. None of this would be the same without him.
🐕 Meet Grimm

My constant companion is Grimm, my dog, sidekick, and sometimes co-star. He goes with me everywhere and keeps me company out here in the woods. You’ll see him in plenty of videos, usually stealing the spotlight.
